Our Story
Yarn Island is an online yarn shop in Tangerang, Indonesia, which was established by the end of March 2016.
What first started as a hobby became an opportunity. Our journey started when our founder as an amateur crocheter couldn’t find a reliable source of yarn to help finish her little project.
After trying several brands, local and imported brands, we decided that imported brands give more color consistency, therefore having a better quality that many of our future customers seeked. Seeing at that time there was not many online shop offering the products with competitive price, we decided to jump at the opportunity to provide Indonesia crocheters and knitters with our curated selections of best quality yarn brands.
We started from home as our warehouse then we packed all the package by ourselves. By the end of 2017, we moved to our new warehouse, which is currently our current warehouse, running a small but great team of five to continue to serve our customers as best as we could.
